Savanna Scrum

Overview:

Savanna Scrum was conceived during the Global Game Jam 2010. By the end of the 48 hours our entry was far from the prototype we envisioned. You can read about this process at my blog entry on the GGJ here.

After the competition I didn’t want to let all that art and design time go to waste so I set out to create the prototype we were going for in the first place. This game was created in Unity in my spare time. I have never worked with the Unity engine and I saw this as a great opportunity to try it out. I did all the coding, level design, sound effects, and other things that we did not get around to during GGJ. In total this represents approximately 35 hours of work.

One note: This is a prototype version of the game. I can think of about a million improvements and additions I could make. I wanted to get it out there in some reasonable amount of time so people could take a look.

Description:

Savanna Scrum a fast paced multiplayer game. The players are on one of two teams and the objective is to push the ball into the goal matching your team color at the end of the field. The catch of the game is players may switch teams at any time. This will allow the player to use this team changing mechanic to create a dynamically changing play field. The player will want to be on the right team at the right time.
